Nintendo Wii Still Kicking Butt
October sales are showing that Nintendo’s popular Wii console is still kicking sales butt. Up against Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s PS3, the Wii still out sells both of these units combined. As I have previously mentioned, the Wii is just a better game experience and offers interactive play for the entire family. Oh yeah….. [...]

PlayStation Network reaches 14 million active accounts to tie with Xbox Live
Sony has announced that it’s free online network, the PlayStation Network has reached 14 million active accounts. This would tie it with Microsoft’s Xbox 360, which reached 14 million subscribers last month. This is a big deal for Sony’s big black box, which had struggled during it’s first two years against the extremely successful Nintendo Wii and against Microsoft Xbox 360 console, which got a head start into the market place. But now things really seem to be turning around, despite the

Review: Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2 (Wii)
If you’ve read even this far — past the point at which some needy souls skimming across GameCyte articles will likely look anime-styled characters, turn up their nose in disgust, and don’t bother to read so much as the first sentence — then I believe I have a game you’ll like. It’s a pick-up-and-play fighting title called Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2, and whether you’re already a fan of the anime series, a fighting game enthusiast or a complete newcomer to both, it has something for you

SEARS Black Friday Madness
My sister once told me that the best time to go Christmas shopping is during a Black Friday Sale. Unfortunately, I’ve missed that last year and Jeff has promised to take me to the mall the day after Thanksgiving this year, but apparently, I would again miss it since I have work on that day. The great news though is that I don’t have to wait until Black Friday before I can do my shopping because one of my favorite stores in the mall is having Sears Black Friday Sale. I checked out their web site

Ultimate Band Release Date and Song List Revealed
Band games are now becoming the next big thing. I mean, who doesn’t want to rock out and pretend to look chilly while doing it? Psh, I sure as hell do every the time. My cousin usually spends his Tuesdays at a bar getting smashed and playing Rock Band, for Christ’s sake. That’s how you know how serious this era of gaming has become. We, my friends, have been blessed with yet another means of humility and the subconscious satisfaction of playing a guitar on the hardest difficulty setting. On Nove

In news that won't please many a shopper eyeing up a copy of Wii Fit for Christmas Day, Nintendo's US president has admitted that there probably won't be enough stock to go around: "With Wii hardware, I think we’ve got a good shot at meeting demand during the holidays. With ‘Wii Fit,’ I know we’ll fall short. That’s a product we have consumers lining up for each morning outside of our Nintendo World store [in New York City],” Reggie Fils-Aime explained. Wii Update Version 3.4
Those of you who have got your Wii connected to the internet might have noticed a little blue blinking light this morning. Upon futher inspection you’ll have found a message from Nintendo letting you know that a new update is ready and waiting to be installed, upgrading your Wii software to version 3.4. This version doesn’t look anything updated that will affect most users, as it is aimed at trying to prevent homebrew applications from being run on the Wii. The update, together with updating

genre X is doing things right
Genre-X is a library book group for 20 and 30somethings at the Oak Park Public Library. They don’t always meet in the library, however. They meet at local watering holes. This is great, but it isn’t the only thing they’re doing right. They recently had a hi-lo gaming event with a Nintendo Wii and board games, and DJs. What’s more, they had a group member draw and hand screen posters for the event too. This seems like a tiny thing but it was quite a nice touch. It let a group member contribute
